dolomites aquarelle

sassongher (2.665 m), the imposing limestone mountain that looms over corvara, treated with photoscape's 'aquarelle' filter.

notice how little snow there is on the hillside! despite this lack of snow, the slopes were in very good condition thanks to lots of artificial snow, and skiing was easy and great fun.

First, I am glad that you are back from vacation safely and healthy ... today is something special to see ... the great blue sky highlights the partially snow-capped mountains, beautifully produced ... I Like the clear details and the colors ... it works like painting and is very well managed ... I like your picture ...

A majestic view ... I love the intensity of the brilliant blue sky; I have never been able to achieve this level of intensity before. Must be that aquarelle filter you mentioned.

10 Feb 2016 3:34pm

@James: perhaps the intensity of the sky does come from the 'aquarelle' filter, perhaps also from the 'clouds' overlay that i applied sparingly. however, the sky in the original, unfiltered version was almost quite as intense. maybe it was the atmospheric conditions that day ...

Wow - yes the Aquarelle filter is Perfect here, for the sky - and the detail is superb. I am glad that there was some snow on the "main" slopes for skiing were filled with "machine" snow :-)
This is a very impressive peak .
