venice in black and white (10)
a "negative" version of the ca' d'oro, "the golden house", on venice's canal grande. the name goes back to the gilt and polychrome external decorations which once adorned its walls. the real name of this gothic palazzo from the early 15th century is palazzo santa sofia. if you want to learn more about the eventful history of the building click here!
i think the "negative" version accentuates the details of the gothic architecture very nicely. besides, once in a while i like playing around ... ;-)
