"touristy images from the state of maine, usa" (5)
while walking and sightseeing in camden, we were surprised by a sudden and heavy downpour - without umbrellas, of course! luckily there was a shoe store nearby, so that irene had an excuse to do what she loves doing - shopping for shoes! in the end she didn't buy any - but I did! ;-))

@DULCIE: thanks, dulcie! no, she didn't suffer at all ... but i did ... ;-))
@Sarito: not really - i actually needed new trainers! ;-))
@J.R.: yep, "shopping" often means "looking" and "trying on" and "looking some more" and so on and on ... ;-))
@Paco Díaz: no, she didn't buy any - but i bought some! ;-))
@kiwisa: this kind of behaviour seems to be part of the female DNA, though i'm not sure this has actually been researched yet! ;-))
@CElliottUK: we have an agreement, you see - patience displayed (by me) in shoe shops is balanced by patience displayed (by her) in book shops! this works out fine, and besides, even i need new shoes once in a while! ;-))
@Stephen: thanks, stephen! looks like it, but it got us out of the rain! ;-))
@Mhelene: thanks, helene! well, i don't know about "friend" in this case!
@El pare: an how she enjoys it! ;-))
@Judy aka L@dybug: you're right, judy, the red ones are her "original" shoes! why she did not buy any on that occasion i can't remember ... ;-))
@Eric Cousineau: thanks, eric! shoe shops are always a welcome distractions, no matter where we are ... ;-))
@B. Thomas: it does look like that, but i swear i had not evil intentions upon entering the premises ... ;-))
@Rick: as it so often happens, does it not?!? ;-))
@Tomek: so it seems! ;-))
@Don: thanks, don! it kept us dry, but cost ME some money!
@Tede: you're right - that's how it is and shall always be! ;-))
@Denny Jump Photo: thanks, denny! it's true, "great minds tick the same way!" ;-)) and you're mistaken - irene doesn't like her picture taken at all! and if she consents, she does so only under one condition - the photo must show her "young and beautiful"! which of course it always does - to my mind, but not to hers! so, there you go! enjoy the rest of ST, denny! ;-))
@Francisco Romero: thanks, francisco! no flash, only the available light, but with some processing on the PC!
@Steve Rice: yeah, and we didn't get wet! ;-))
@The Mouse: between getting drenched and trying on some shoes - and eventually buying a pair of trainers - i chose the shoe shop! ;-))
@Williams: so you're fascinated with shoes, too?!? ;-))
@Carina M. I. Soriano: muchas gracias por la lección! ;-))
